ECU Brief Profile
European Chess Union (ECU), founded on 1985 in Graz, Austria is a politically and confessionally independent association and has its seat in Lausanne/Switzerland.
The ECU intends to safeguard and increase the interests of Chess in Europe, as well as the involvment of its members. It co-ordinates the activity of the members and organizes continental championships.
ECU has 55 National Federation Members representing almost all the European Countries with more than 30.000.000 registered players and 50.000.000 of chess friends and fans.
