European Championships: Qualifications
Despite the decision of the Tribunal d’Arrondissement de Lausanne (Switzerland), the qualifications of the European Individual Championships 2009 in Budva (Montenegro) and St. Petersburg (Russia) are valid.

Chess Summer in Varna
The 4th European Open School Team Chess Championships U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16 (11-21 June 2009) started in Varna (Bulgaria) with the first round on 13 June.

The ECU invites to the European Club Cup (men and women) that will be held in Ohrid/FYROM from 3 to 13 October 2009.

The European Chess Union has created a new competition: the “ECU Youth Grand-prix 2009″.

Mitropa Cup Meeting
During the Mitropa Cup in Rogaska Slatina (Slovenia, 9 – 17 May, 2009), a meeting took place with ECU President Boris Kutin who gave support to the organization of the tournament.
