ISCU Anniversary

At the closing ceremony of school chess tournaments in Moscow the vice-president of the Moscow Chess Federation and President of the International School Chess Union (ISCU) Alexander Kostiev pointed out that ISCU was formed 10 years ago. Since 1999 ISCU organized qualifying tournaments for European and World School Chess Championships.

Convention in Torino

Mitropa Cup 2009

The Chess Federation of Slovenia invited the chess federations of Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia and Switzerland to the Mitropa Cup 2009: 9 – 17 May in Rogaska Slatina. The tournament will be organized with two separate sections, men’s section and women’s section.

European Women’s Championship: Registration

For the 10th European Individual Women’s Chess Championship in St. Petersburg, Russia (7-21 March, 2009) the national federations or participants themselves are kindly requested to return the Application Forms not later than February 10, 2009. The European Individual Senior Championship 2009 will take place in Rogaska Slatina, Slovenia: 22-31 of July 2009.
