Liberec Open
The registration deadline for 8th International Chess Festival OPEN LIBEREC 2007 has been prolonged without paying extra fee for the late entering till 4.11. 2007. 96 players from 11 countries were registered on the date 22.10. 2007

ECC 2008: results
Ural Sverdlovskaya has won the European Club Cup 2008 (open section) in Kallithea (Greece, 17-23 October), OSG Baden-Baden took second place and PVK Kiev Chess finished third. Cercle d’Echecs Monte Carlo defended the title in the women’s event, Spartak Vidnoe and T-com Podgorica took second and third place respectively.

ECU and the Organizing Committee of the European Club Cup 2008 had encouraged all the teams to use standardized T-Shirts with number of board, team logo and team name on the front side, player name and competition logo or sponsor on the back side. Preparations
As a preparation for the chess olympiad in Dresden (Germany) the German B-Teams (U20) played a match against Russian Junior teams in the Panorama Hotel in Neustadt/Weinstrasse. Host was the Karpov Chess Academy Rhine Neckar, one of the main sponsors the German Foreign Office.

8th Senior ch in Davos
Mark Tseitlin (Israel) won the 8th European Individual Senior Chess Championship in Davos (Switzerland) ahead of Vitaly Tseshkovsky (Russia). Both players scored 7.5/9. According to ECU tournament rules the tie was broken by counting of Buchholz points. Elena Fatalibekova (Russia) defended her title as women champion.
